Sounds like you arent sleeping well. I had one interesting result. I tried meditating and actually achieved, twice, the meditative state. You know you are there because you suddenly know what is going on all around you to such an extent that you think it is impossible. Anyway, after waking to full after these events, I felt the best I had felt in ages and it lasted hours. — Remove the anti-spammer stuff

Get to your doc, have a sleep study done. Look for Apnea and Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) and the related PLMS (Periodic Leg Movement during sleep or Periodic Leg Movement Disorder). See other posts on RLS, PLMS/PLMD that I’ve put up today. Do a web search on RLS to find further info. James Bond wrote in message <293-37B12A54-…@newsd-111.bryant.webtv.net>…

Just wanted to point out that even if you said no to most of those questions, you should still probably see a sleep specialist.  I had similar symptoms even though I don’t have sleep apnea. Most other sleep disorders won’t have such serious health consequences as sleep apnea, but they still make you feel sleepy during the day, and that’s still a very dangerous situation if you drive a car at all. (Plus, it sucks to spend half your life sleeping, and the other half tired.) -Bret Wood -bretw…@cs.uoregon.edu

Greetings!  Prior to my diagnosis with obstructive sleep apnea, the same was also true with me. Do you snore heavily?  Does anyone complain that you stop breathing during the night?  Do you wake often to go to the bathroom?  Do you wake up with headaches?  Do you end up feeling excessively sleepy during the day?  Do you need to take a nap when you get back from work?  Do you have problems with acid reflux? If you said yes to more than one of these, you should see a sleep specialist.  It’s possible you might have obstructive sleep apnea.  Left untreated this can kill.  It places a very harsh demand on your cardiovascular system. There are a LOT of sleep disorders which can cause "Excessive Daytime Sleepiness."  If doctors are only doing blood tests, then you really need to see another doctor.  The doctor you have is checking to see if you have an illness which is causing you to be run down.  But, sleep disorders usually need to be diagnosed in a completely different way.  Try to find a doctor who specializes in sleep disorders, who can do a sleep study on you.  The doctors haven’t really investigated the possibility of a sleep disorder unless you have spent a night sleeping in a room with wires stuck all over you.  :) (I’ve never had a sleep study, because my symptoms were fairly clear, but if your doctor can’t find anything wrong, then you definitely need a sleep study.) > Any advice would be great, please email me your responses since > I very seldom get a chance to get on the net, thanks.

It’s generally considered rude to post to a newsgroup, then ask for people to email you a response.  Since all of us who hang out here are volunteering our time to share our experiences with other people, it can make people feel very unappreciated if you ask for a personal, emailed response.  No-one here gets paid for this stuff.  We’re all just trying to help each other out.  But, since it sounds like you’re new here, I’ll cut you some slack.  :) BTW, I’m emailing _and_ posting this. -Bret Wood -bretw…@cs.uoregon.edu
