antidepressants woes

Question:

Why are you looking up my posts in Deja/Google?   Friendly people here was right.  Your intent is to harm people, you are involved in cyber stalking, net copping, harassing and being an annoying jerk.

BINGO!!!! you get the chocolate chip cookie assortment :) )) You’re his latest target, it seems.  Let him repost all your posts if it makes him happy.  What he’s doing says much more about him than the content of your old posts say about you.  He’s done it to many others.

this is true. however, dont just let it go. complain to your =own= isp. keep records of everything. it may be needed in court someday :-)    I think the best thing that can be done is for Ms. Stephanie Lamberts from your Probation Department to put you on probation that prohibits you from coming online.

this is one of the things being worked toward. we have reason to believe we will succeed. She certainly would be interested in knowing that Andrew seems to now be stalking a 17 year old boy.  Something tells me she wouldn’t like that.  Not one bit. If you think you are being stalked, it might be best to let her know.  Ms. Lamberts’ phone number is 973-395-3117, and the "good colonel" is Andrew Chmilewsky.  If you can’t pronounce his last name, I’m sure just saying "this guy named Andrew" will be all she needs to figure out who you mean. His fat file is probably right on top of her desk.

THIS IS SO TRUE. he is actually going to court on cyberstalking /harassment charges, and will face the judge on april the ninth. (soon to be a public internet holiday) . his probation officer does indeed possess every copy of every abusive post made by any of his personalities within the previous year. he -is- a stalker, and i do encourage you to drop a note to his probation officer stephanie lamberts at the number above. it will definitely help the case against him for them to know that even after severe warnings and cautions, he continues to victimise people. you can also write to her we can supply the address. he is very definitely initiating stalking behaviors upon you and if he is testing to see if it will be tolerated, it will not. if he is trying to really get himself nailed, this is a really good way. i may even write stephanie myself to tell her of this latest development. DO NOT ever speak to him. send =any= messages about or to you, immediately to your own isp, and stephanie lamberts if you wish. tell them you feel you are being stalked by andrew, you are a minor, and  you want the situation watched. that is well within your rights as a minor. you may even have legal recourse. any number of us would be glad to help you work it out. be safe good luck. peace anna — "it is  so easy to return to our spirit world from where we came.  life is not easy. but life is not nearly so hard when we honor the self…."

Bye   Luca x-no-archive: yes     Hi everyone!     I am looking for information about use of anti-depressants on teenagers.     Any inputs from male teenagers regarding the side effects would be greatly appreciated.  I want to know if anyone else is experiencing similar sideeffects from Prozac. Also I want some statistical data showing success rate for each medication for teens my age would be helpful too(16-18 y/o).  I saw a doctor for depression for the first time about 1.5month ago and I was prescribed Prozac after I mentioned the name.  I chose the medication more or less….   He started with 10mg/day for the first week then 20mg/day thereafter.  I had to quit Prozac, because its side effect were untolerable.   I noticed a libido decrease immediately after starting Prozac. Ever since I went on 20mg/day I felt drowsy, a bit of hallucination, strange dreams, waking up in middle of night, more libido decrease and slight visual disturbance.  The doctor put me on nefazodone HCl *The Serene Program* and last week.  The only sideeffect so far is that my shoulder feels strange.  Sorta feels tight and hot like as I need a massage real bad. This is VERY annoying. I have not gotten any therapeutic effect from either of the medication, despite all the NEGATIVE effect I’ve went through.  Its more like I don’t notice depression, because the side effect is covering it.  I lost my ex-boyfriend, because of Prozac.  I didn’t say anything to him about my medication and I tried to hide it, but he difinitely noticed something wrong with my sex drive and he didn’t take this too well. Anyhow the outcome of Prozac so far was: physically sick few weeks, been late to class quite often, missing assignments and depression got worse, because of the lost relationship.   Exactly the opposite of what one would want eh?   I have a new b/f now and I do not want to lose him for the same reason.  I am looking for an anti-depressant that: kicks in the beneficial effect in reasonable time must not have any libido effect, sex drive is rather important for teens. does not cause my shoulder to feel weird does not cause me to feel fatigued does not interfere with sleep pattern wouldn’t change me into whole different person Jeremy P.S. my regular email server is down for few days(can’t receive at all)

x-no-archive: yes All antidepressants have side effects.     Awwww.  I feel so jealous of people who can be happy without the help of anti-depressant.

Studies show that with proper talk therapy, either using anti depressants or not, that people over come depression significantly more than those who just use drugs to fight it. The drugs are like a band aid that treats a symptom of the problem but does nothing about the problem. Learning to react differently to life’s problems is a long term solution. St. John’s Wort, a natural herb, has no physical side effects aside from light sensitivity. It’s the most often of all prescribed antidepressant in europe, 20 times more often used than prozac. Drug companies can’t profit from it’s sales like they do from chemical drugs, and drug companies effect how mental health care is carried out in america. SJW is sold in health food and other stores without a prescription.

x-no-archive: yes All antidepressants have side effects.     I figured that.  I am really concerned about side-effects, because its likely that I have to take it for long time.  I can probably deal with moderate side effect for short period, but it scares me if I know I have to deal with it for years.

There is a good chance that when you find the right antidepressant, the side effects will be minimal, or will go away. I am not too sure about this idea that we have to wait *eight* weeks as the doctors say..I think after a few to three-maybe four weeks you can pretty much tell if the side-effects are bearable. If you take a med, and it makes you feel *horrible* from day one, and just worse, I would generally ditch it. Finding the right one for you may take time.   Wellbutrin SR doesn’t interfere with  your sex drive.     Do you know if Serezone interfer with sexual function?  Although not as disabling as Prozac, I think I’ve been having less satisfying orgasm and takes longer to reach orgasm when I started Serezone.   I’m sorry if I’m disgusting you in anyway.. I din’t really want to get into details, but I had to explain it in order to explain exactly what is happening with me.

Don’t worry about describing sex drive. We all go through this on the psych med groups. You are most certainly not alone. Serzone is *supposed* to not have as bad effect on sex drive as other a.d’s, but, there isn’t *alot* of evidence. Like all things, you may have to trial and error to find out. By the way, can you talk to your doctor about these things? He/she should *not* have problems with your sexuality..many doctors usually don’t. If that is the case, maybe try finding a doc you are comfortable with. It *is* also possible to take Serzone and Wellbutrin together. It’s a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, it may be worth a shot. See what your doctor says. But all anti depressants will take weeks, even months, before you feel a difference in your depression.  You should tell your boyfriend that you are on anti depressants and to achieve orgasm just might take some more time.     I’m kinda concerned he’ll look at me differently if he knows I’m someone who needs anti-depressant.  Would it make any difference toward how you feel toward your date if you know he/she is on anti-depressant?  I think I’ll feel somewhat different.

Yes, it may seem odd. But, you really only have to say anything if it becomes a major issue. You can also just say that you are on "medication" that causes you to need a bit more prep time to get in the mood and aroused. That may even be all you have to say. If it comes down to explaining you are on an antidepressant, just be straightforward and honest. Simply explain that stress and life has been a bit hard to cope with, but you are, and will always be, the same person you are. As mentioned below, the guy who cares for you will not have any problem, especially if you are just forward and honest. There is another *plus* also..a sexual one that I don’t think everyone realizes. That is, you will find you will last longer in sex, which can really work in your favour. Best of luck..and please post and let us know how you are doing. There is some really great support on here, inspite of some of the jerks, so focus on the positive. The support is really quite uplifting often, and you may find it very valuable. x-no-archive: yes     Hi everyone!     I am looking for information about use of anti-depressants on teenagers.     Any inputs from male teenagers regarding the side effects would be greatly appreciated.  I want to know if anyone else is experiencing similar sideeffects from Prozac.

I was put on Imipramine when I was 16 years old… the only really noticable side effect I got was that it aggravated my postural hypotension (so I fainted a lot).  After dropping the dose a little and ramping up more slowly this side effect wasn’t so bad, though I was still more prone to grey-outs / fainting whilst I was taking it.  Oh, and I had a dry mouth a lot of the time.  It’s possible that there were other side effects that I didn’t notice at the time – I was all over the place mentally, and didn’t really think to analyse the situation.  I don’t remember any libido problems though.  I have inclined towards insomnia when on Tricyclics, but that may have been due to the depression rather than the drug. Also I want some statistical data showing success rate for each medication for teens my age would be helpful too(16-18 y/o).

Err… well, the downside was that I didn’t get much AD effect from the Imipramine, even at very high doses, or particularly from dothiepin (and Paroxetine sent me into full-on psychosis). I’ve found the SSRI’s more effective I think – I’m on Celexa at the moment which is working well.  All the SSRI’s seem to have a detrimental effect on libido & sexual performance though.  Bear in mind that all antipressants to tend to take up to a month to start working (actually I started feeling the benefit of Celexa on the 12th day), and that the SSRIs can have some pretty awful side effects for the first few weeks, but that they tend to subside (except the libido). kicks in the beneficial effect in reasonable time must not have any libido effect, sex drive is rather important for teens. does not cause my shoulder to feel weird does not cause me to feel fatigued does not interfere with sleep pattern wouldn’t change me into whole different person

Hmmm… it’s a pretty tough list!  Well, the first two are anyway.  I’ve no idea what the wierd shoulder thing is about.  Fatigue and/or insomnia are common in the first few weeks, but should be reduced after then.  It’s important to work out which way it’s affecting you most, and take your dose in the morning or at night accordingly. ADs shouldn’t change you into a whole different person unless they kick the depression thoroughly and make you a happy one :-) — Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. I am looking for information about use of anti-depressants on teenagers.

Hmm…well, there isn’t much info out there (the drug companies haven’t made it a priority to study the effects of ADs on adolescents). I believe that SSRIs, like Prozac, and some other ADs (including Serzone), have been found to work in teens about as often as in adults (that is, about 2/3 to 3/4 of the time). Tricyclic ADs may not work as well in teens. I don’t know how much information there is about some of the newer ADs (Remeron, Wellbutrin, Effexor), and I’m pretty sure there isn’t any information about monoamine oxidase inhibitors. I was on Prozac as a teen (starting when I was 14). I didn’t experience any of the strange side effects you describe — I found Prozac very tolerable. The Serzone you’re taking now tends not to have these side effects so much. There is some evidence to support the use of SSRIs and Serzone in teens. About the sex thing: ideally, you want to be able to be open to a person you’re in a relationship with about medications, especially those that might affect your sex drive or performance. That way if you have troubles, they will know not to take it personally. kicks in the beneficial effect in reasonable time

All of the standard antidepressants take a few weeks to start working. A stimulant, such as methylphenidate (Ritalin), has a better chance of helping you in the short term. (If you do try a stimulant, I suggest trying to get your doctor to prescribe a slow-release preparation such as Concerta or Dexedrine Spansules. Ritalin SR has a bad reputation — it’s not supposed to be much of an improvement over immediate-release Ritalin — so I wouldn’t bother with that.) You could also try a different SSRI than Prozac (a differerent SSRI might not have the bad effects on your sleep; I’m afraid they all are liable cause sexual problems) and add Ritalin or another stimulant to it, as this could reverse the sexual side effects, at least partially. Adding Wellbutrin to an SSRI can also block the sexual side effects of the SSRI. must not have any libido effect, sex drive is rather important for teens.

I remember. <g Besides Serzone, there are tricyclics (such as desipramine) (although available evidence suggests these are less likely to work in adolescents than are SSRIs), Wellbutrin (you can use this alone, or with an SSRI, as described above), Remeron (more about this one below). If you try a lot of things and none of them seem to work, there is also Parnate, which is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor that doesn’t seem to cause sexual dysfunction. A lot of doctors really don’t like to prescribe MAOIs, though, especially to children and adolescents. does not cause me to feel fatigued

Wellbutrin is usually activating. SSRIs are often activating (or at least, not sedating) as well. Desipramine is unlikely to be sedating, although most other tricyclics are at least somewhat sedating (again, tricyclics may not work as well as SSRIs in adolescents). Parnate is also activating. And of course, stimulants are unlikely to make you feel tired (although therapeutic doses don’t always make people feel activated, either). does not interfere with sleep pattern

That’s a tough one. Remeron and Serzone both are known for leaving sleep architecture alone, but you aren’t liking Serzone (I’d say give it a chance, the shoulder thing might not even be related to the medication), and Remeron definitely can be sedating, especially at lower doses. (At higher doses the noradrenergic effects kick in and it becomes less sedating. My pdoc says he usually starts people at 30mg to avoid oversedation.) A different SSRI (Zoloft, Celexa, Luvox, or Paxil) might not cause the problems you’ve had with Prozac. You also might consider taking a sleep aid, such as Ambien or trazodone, with the AD. wouldn’t change me into whole different person

I don’t think that antidepressants generally do this. It certainly hasn’t been my experience. -elizabeth
