B-complex?

Question:

Triggers are cumulative.  They have to accumulate until you are put over the migraine threshold.  If one can remove or control some of the triggers, the remaining may not be enough to put one over the threshold. This is why one particular trigger works and sometimes it doesn’t.

This makes since and is not as complex as I was originally thinking. However, one needs to know what his/her triggers are.  I’m pretty good at getting a mental list together for some that are obvious but I may need to start logging.  I don’t think any foods are triggers for me, even MSG. But I could be wrong. I know that vehicle exhaust (oxygen deprivation due to carbon monoxide inhalation), bright sunlight (esp. sudden flashes reflected into eyes as off of a car door opening), and tension headaches are among my most common triggers as is, evidently, scented Play-DOH (my daughter’s keeping the stuff but is restricted to keeping it away from my face :-) What’s interesting is that I was next to a tank at work that had a light wafting vent of hydrocarbons (similar to gasoline) and this had an immediate analgesic effect — I mean total relief!  However, this lasted only as long as I was smelling this and when I moved out of the area the pain came back as strong but no stronger than before.  Obviously this is not a good analgesic but it interesting nevertheless. — "God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the  prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a  sun-scorched land." — Psalms 68:6 (NIV) Duane A. <snip Oh, triggers.  Sorry, my thoughts are disjointed.  I think the reason that research has such a hard time with the repeatability of triggers is that triggers don’t work on their own.  Triggers have to be in conjunction with some other environmental variable.  I couldn’t begin to tell you what that variable is but I bet doing the research on this would be as complicated as forecasting weather phenomena.

I’ve discoverd that 1000 micrograms of B12, taken sublingually every day, significantly reduces my migraine pain level. Niacin triggers a migraine for me.

I only take B vitamins in the morning because they can stimulate your nervous system and have been known to keep people awake – especially B1. diane
