Klonopin seems to lose effectiveness with me, I started on 0.5 mg for leg movemets, then was told to wean off. I couldnt, but got down to 0 .125 mg which worked for about 5 years, just increased to 0.5 and saw a big difference in sleep quality. Was on Elavil for a fwe days as a trial anti depressant drug, but it would no let me sleep.

Definitely…. especially with the Klonopin (and any benzodiazapine drug). Usually, changing to a different variety of med will help. Generic Desyrel (trazodone) in a low dose may be a good choice… but there are some caveats to its use that your doctor should know about. It’s an antidepressant (as is Elavil) but it’s not the same type as Elavil.
