HYPNOSIS AND INSOMNIA

Pardon me, but I’m new here.  What  medical problems result in insomnia?

In all honesty, I don’t think that’s been adequately researched.  From what I’ve seen on this newsgroup (and that’s about as unscientific as you can get), it appears some things that can trigger insomnia include:     Stress at work / home     Hereditary predisposition         (if you parents struggled with it, you may as well)     Sudden major shift of hormones         (such as puberty and/or menopause)     Brain injuries     Who knows ???         (A lot of times it’s hard to determine the cause) But this certainly isn’t intended to be all encompassing, just to give you the flavor that insomnia is the result of many other problems. I just had my annual checkup with my doctor and asked him what medical problems can cause insomnia – he said the only thing he knew of is thyroid problems.  I know menopause can affect sleep and I’m sure there are some medical problems that can have insomnia as a side effect. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> > Pardon me, but I’m new here.  What  medical problems > > result in insomnia? > In all honesty, I don’t think that’s been adequately researched.  From what > I’ve seen on this newsgroup (and that’s about as unscientific as you can > get), it appears some things that can trigger insomnia include: >     Stress at work / home >     Hereditary predisposition >         (if you parents struggled with it, you may as well) >     Sudden major shift of hormones >         (such as puberty and/or menopause) >     Brain injuries >     Who knows ??? >         (A lot of times it’s hard to determine the cause) > But this certainly isn’t intended to be all encompassing, just to give you > the flavor that insomnia is the result of many other problems. > Regards, > =jbf= > John B. I’m glad that hypnosis worked for you, but I hope it is not covering up a medical problem that needs attention.

Hypnosis has (so far) cured my insomnia. I was addicted to pills.  Have had sunday night insomnia for 10 years, went to every night 7 weeks ago.  The hypnosis worked.  The first few nights it took me awhile to fall asleep (1 – 2 hours) but I fall asleep earlier every night.  Last night – my 7th night since hypnosis I fell asleep right away.  I listen to a tape of my session for 21 days.  It also cured me of smoking.  I stay up later and get up earlier, dont have caffeine after 4 and refuse to look at the alarm clock.  I read a very good book – Say Goodnight to Insomnia by Gregg Jacobs which has helped a great deal.  The main thing is to go by how you feel the next day and not worry that’s it’s 2 or 3 am.
