i might add that this is my own diagnosis of myself. my (old) doctor only listed 4 things. my current doctor has not given me a diagnosis, other than medicating me for paranoid schizophrenia. m.

i started out with OCD when i was younger. i was officially diagnosed with it in 2001. the OCD has turned into something much worse. > Do you read my posts on the OCD and social phobia forums?

disease be careful with the OCD, Kim. i was browsing books in the Borders store and came across one OCD book that said it can turn into schizophrenia. but if you are age 20, you are probably almost "out of the woods". although some women tend to get it later in life. i think most sz guys get it in the early twenties. don’t ask me why there is a difference between the sexes. m.

Penguin, that was kind of my unofficial diagnosis of myself, although i forgot to list schizophrenia. my official diagnosis does include Avoidant Personality Disorder. you are right, i can’t tell the difference between the negative symptom of avoiding things, and the AvPD. m.

michael, I don’t see why they labeled you with avoidant personality disorder when you may have sz. Being withdrawn is a symptom of sz. I am diagnosed with the negative symptom of being withdrawn plus paranoid sz. penguin

I can relate to some.. I have severe OCD.. major hypochondria ( linked to OCD) social anxiety.. and none of the other.
