Paxil and Insomnia?

I would be interested to know how many Paxil users have suffered insomnia while using Paxil. Was it just at the beginning or has it been on-going? Thanks in advance. Ope

I just switched from Paxil to Luvox because of insomnia. Too bad because the Paxil worked great otherwise for me.

Ope, paxil had the opposite affect on me. I have had insomnia most of my life. Taking buspar made it worse than ever. But when I started 20mg of paxil, within the first few days, I was sleeping at least 5 or 6 hours per night which is almost like a miracle for me. I have now been on paxil for approximately 3 months and I am getting more sleep than I have in years. Good luck to you. Tova

Ope, You already had problems with insomnia, right, and the Paxil was to help with this? Has the Paxil made it worse? Do you think that this is due to the wired effect one tends to get while starting SSRIs? Paxil is the SSRI that’s supposed to do best with normalizing sleeping, but YMMV. Did that generic name for Ambien help in tracking it down? Matt
