Yes they can be addictive. I just lay there and make up Science Fiction stories in my head until it tires me to sleep. Worth a try doing something like that. ;-} Remove the anti-spammer stuff

Worse than just being addicted, over the counter sleeping aids start to interfere with your sleep patterns. Unfortunately at this point you need to decide to wean yourself off sleeping pills. I’ld suggest that you visit the following two websites: http://www.insomniacure.com/ http://www.sleepedu.net/forums/insomnia/insomniainf.html They may be able to provide additional information that might help. I know you ‘know’ this, but you really do need to remember that sleep deprivation will eventually destroy your health. It will take sometime to reduce the amount of sleep aids you need. And heaven alone knows that if there was an instant cure, I’ld be running for it this very minute! Regards, =jbf= John B. Fisher

If you have to ask, the answer is probably "yes". Worse, OTC sleeping pills cause sleep disturbances. — The true scientist revises his beliefs to fit the evidence.
