I sleep like a log. Sometimes I sleep too much but during the day. I use it as a defense mechanism. I have had one sleepless night in the last 5 years. Richard :) — I lost my train of thought, I think it’s in a tunnel.

Hmm….can’t help you there I’m afraid, I have severe insomnia.  Sorry!

I have had insomnia (30% problem getting to sleep, 70% maintaining sleep) for over five years now. I was first treated for depression (Prozac, Trimipramine), but that didn’t make any difference. I probably never was depressed. It now seems more likely that anxiety is my problem. I would say that, on a scale from 0 to 100, I would rate 50 for social anxiety and 25 for generalized anxiety. In other words, not at all an extreme case of anxiety. I’m now in my third week with Dothiepin, an sedating antidepressant with anti-anxiety propterties. What’s your experience on this? Could such an moderat anxiety, and social anxiety in general, cause insomnia?
