Spooked About Paxil – THANKS, NG
Question:
Suffice to say, Paxil has been consigned to the great garbage heap of history. Tomorrow, (Friday) the doctor told me to come in for re-evaluation. I was looking forward to returning to work (part time) and this has been a major setback. I haven’t felt this bad in weeks.
Hang in there, Genie. Many of us have had to try several meds to find that one that works. You can now write Paxil off the list and work from there. I know it is disappointing when this happens and an sorry you feel so bad. Hope your visit with the doc today makes you feel a bit better about all the options out available. Gwen
Response:
Hi – Special THANKS to Mel, Gwen, Gary, Phillip and Kiesha for their public response to my concerns about this medication. Moreover, I’ve also received many private replies from other truly kind people. Day #1 with Paxil seemed okay – I was jittery, but okay. Then…. WHAM ! I never ran so fast to the potty, so many times. Everything I ate went through "express". Last night I took 2 Ativan at 1:00am to try and get some sleep. My legs were restless, and while I did doze off for 3 hours, I was up again – crying and feeling anxious. Suffice to say, Paxil has been consigned to the great garbage heap of history. Tomorrow, (Friday) the doctor told me to come in for re-evaluation. I was looking forward to returning to work (part time) and this has been a major setback. I haven’t felt this bad in weeks. As soon as I feel "human" again, I’m going to see a GYN – and have them check my level of hormones. I’ve always suffered with insomnia and when that monthly "female friend" visits – lots of anxiety (PMS stuff). Again, THANK YOU ALL SO VERY, VERY MUCH for your kindness and concern.
