Still Standing

Question:

Hey – another hectic day.    The management is sort of keeping me in the dark on this work thing (you know moving the operations elsewhere).  Nice that they would plant the seed and become mutes.  I thought about going back into therapy or increasing my medication but really haven’t taken any steps. Keep doing nutty stuff at work like looking at legal material for potential lawsuits (I know I’ll sue em).   I just want to be left alone and apparently this ain’t gonna happen.  I’m going down in flames man! Believe it or not I’m becoming afraid of my bed because I just toss and turn in the darkened silence.  I managed to complete part of a job application but then lost interest.   I hope that an angel comes along and shows me which way to turn……. MAC I know I’ll sue em……

Response:

You are having a rough time, Mac, but once you know what is happening at work, things will quiet down again.  Do you have a comfortable recliner or couch you could come home and take a snooze on?  Since your bed seems to be where you are getting insomnia, a different place might help.  Just a thought. Take care, Liz

MAC, recently I’ve been having trouble not sleeping becuase of anxiety, and then sleeping too much and then not sleeping etc.  Today I went to my doc and got some Xanax.  I feel sooooooo much better now.  I think I will sleep well tonight for a change and not have to be up until 3am posting again!! Have you used Xanax before?  Would you consider seeing someone about your sleeping problems?  Hope you feel better soon. Love and hugs, Cath.

This has happened to me before Mac.  Actually, I was very afraid of going to sleep when I was a kid.  Maybe more so than being an adult.  I’ve been taking .5 Ativan at night for a while now and it helps, also because I clench my teeth.  I hope you get a good night’s sleep soon.  {{{{{Mac}}}} MAC I know I’ll sue em……

Hey Mac, Management is probably waiting to here your opinion about closing the office where you live.  I’m sure they are curious to see if you plan to leave like your co-worker did. I know it’s hard but you’re probably better of not "tipping your hand" until they tell specifically ask you if you’re willing to move to the new site. If you quit, then you can’t collect unemployment. If you become layed off because your office was shut down and you decided not to move than you can collect unemployment. The employer probably doesn’t want you to collect unemployment or pay you a severance package so they probably either want you to move or quit.   Weigh all of your options but definitely don’t quit. Hope this helps, Tony

Response:

Hi, Mac, I agree with Tony…  definitely don’t quit – wait it out and know that unemployment is an option. smiles, Elise
