I’m not sure about the anasthesia, I think it was injected. It isn’t a new technique, it just has become safer to do. Dr. Nielson doesn’t collpase the lungs. Did that patient have social problems before the surgery? I guess it was embarrassing, since that was the title of the program, but did she have panic attacks or take meds? – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->There was a program on TV a week ago that showed a sympathectomy being >done. I wish you the very best of luck and sincerely hope it works for you. Wish I was going to Oz. Lucky bugger. Terry.

I certainly agree. I assumed the appointment had already been made. I’ve never heard of anyone just showing up one day saying "I’d like surgery please". Blood work, paperwork, all kinds of things I would think have to be done.
Response:
Doug, actually, the 2 ETS doctors I have seen and spoken to haven’t really asked much about that. I’m not sure why. I think ETS is not very invasive, so they really don’t think all that information is necessary. Maybe that’s what makes it different from other surgeries. But you might want to get the appointment done early, BV, like in the middle of January, just to make sure he has all the info. he needs. >Bloody Viking, >You may want to let your chosen doctor in on your Feb. surgery plan. >I’ve had a lot of surgery and, unless it’s an emergency, you can count >on a considerable amount of time between your making your first appt. >to discuss the surgery and its actually taking place. Bloody Viking, You may want to let your chosen doctor in on your Feb. surgery plan. I’ve had a lot of surgery and, unless it’s an emergency, you can count on a considerable amount of time between your making your first appt. to discuss the surgery and its actually taking place. The doctor may want a full physical beforehand or at least some tests run to lessen the chance for any negatives occurring while in surgery. He’s probably also going to want to see your medical history. This is all normal. You just need to allow some time for it. Doug To reply by e-mail, remove xx from address.

I know it had to be fast acting. I imagine it would be an injectible, not a gas becuse during the job the surgeon would have to roll you on your sides. I have tenatively set the launch date for my ETS Mission as February 19′th Y2K at 17:25. The mission will cover 1,246 miles, as found out with a chart in a road atlas. I should arrive in San Antonio on the Saturday evening of the 20′th in time to book a motel room and go on a drinking mission. At 75mph, the drive will take 16.6 hours not including stops. My chronic insomnia will be a help! On the first stage of the mission, from liftoff until I stop at a motel to sleep, I’ll likely cover 6 or 7 hours of the mission. Starting early the next day, I should arrive in early evening at the destination. A total of about 8 refuellings will be needed for the mission there and back, not including a detour under the border for the labetalol. I have not decided yet whether I want to attempt to get the labetalol. Too bad I didn’t keep some of that nifedipine that acted on me like crystal meth! It would be PERFECT for this mission! I have only part of the money gotten up. I don’t want to start lining up the Nielson appointment until I have all the money for the mission and the later bills. I chose Feb. 19 as the launch date as Feb. 21 is the monday that is optimum as it’s President’s Day, so as to avoid using one day of Leave, as I already have it as a day off. The launch for the mission home (assuming no labetalol detour) is planned to be immediately upon recovery from the anesthetic is possible. I have no reason to stick around in San Antonio after the ETS job is done. — Pursuant to US Code, Title 47, Chapter 5, Subchapter II, ‘227, any and all unsolicited commercial E-mail sent to this address is subject to a download and archival fee in the amount of $500 US.
