wellbutrin and tremors, anyone else?

Question:

|i’ve been on wellbutrin for 8 months.  i’ve had some hand tremors I’ve had some mild hand tremors since I’ve been on it.  If I have something to lean my arm on, it’s not too bad.  (Even better if I have a computer to type on!) Hope this helps. Ron

Response:

Oh Yeah…. major jitters and tremors. My pdoc added ativan which has since stopped the shaking. The wellbutrin made me feel like I was on amphetimines untill I added the ativan. Now it is much better but I still get racing thoughts… take care, -Mindi-

Response:

i’ve been on wellbutrin for 8 months.  i’ve had some hand tremors for a couple of years…neurologist (for my seizures and migraines) wasn’t too concerned then.  it’s a bit worse now.  my handwriting is getting sloppy, though i don’t do a lot of writing these days, not like when i was in school and writing a lot of notes every day.  hubby notices it and complains that it bothers him and i should get it checked.  it doesn’t really bother me, but it is annoying.   does anyone else that is on wellbutrin have this problem.  i’ve ruled out over-caffienating myself, low blood sugar from not eating….though these things can aggravate it.  just curious, before i go to find new doctors here i would like to take a survey of others on this drug.   willow <it’s probably anxiety, stress, or whatever, but that’s not going to go away soon — For more information about this service, send e-mail to:

Hi Willow, Yes, tremors are a side effect of WB. Found that I can’t tolerate caffeine anymore….of course, I’ve only been on it a couple weeks. But the coffee is bad for me now….wahhhhhh how to get out of bed??? Anyway, the ativan has stopped the tremors for me….plus it’s toned down lots of the other side effects for me…like the nausea, insomnia, etc. Hope this helps, sweetie. You’re right. we can’t totally eliminate stress from our lives……boy, I’d like to.  But we can get through it. Let the pdoc know you’re having this, okay?  might be an interaction with some other meds, diet (like caffeine), all kinds of things.     Love,      Pattybear
