Seth, Yes, I was only on 75 mg and was having panic attacks like crazy, was edgy, weepy, angry, and felt like I was climbing the walls. I had to get off of it right away, the reaction was so severe. Wellbutrin is a little different than most SSRI’S, working on different neurotransmitters, if I recall. JaneG

Hi Seth — not on Wellbutrin, but something similar happened to me recently when my doc tried to raise my dose of Paxil from 20 to 30 mg/day. I didn’t sleep much for three nights, and felt argumentative, jumpy and irritable, as if I was wound up too high or something. These problems disappeared (thankfully) when my doc dropped my back down to 20mg. Have you recently increased your dose? No, though I’m kinda a freak in that regard–I take 300mg a day. 150 2x, supposedly. In actuality, it’s 300 in the morning, sometimes 450 if i’ve forgotten the day before. Then I take my Remeron at night, 15 mg. Funny thing is, I’ve never been better. The whole reason I was put on SR was because of my metabolism burning the dosage too fast on the other type of Wellbutrin.(as a ‘humorous’ example: one time I got drunk. passed out for 15 minutes. Woke up stone sober, able to walk, talk, everything. There were witnesses. Medically sober, not just relatively sober. -That’s- how bad my metabolism is. No wonder I can’t keep hte weight on, huh?) But somehow taking it only in the morning has worked out for me. Probably because when I was taking it ‘correctly’, I almost never remembered the 2nd pill. Sorry, but I guess that doesn’t help you much, huh?

Came real close to killing myself when on it. This was about 2 1/2 years ago. I intend to write a whole post about that incident. Wellbutrin made me extremely irritable. — Happy trials
– hoodornament ICQ #13281083 Sometimes I feel brilliant and Sometimes I feel as stupid as a hoodornament. A hood ornament is a stupid, weak piece of metal. It serves NO useful purpose. It obstructs vision. It gets in the way. Yet if it’s damaged or broken off, the overall value of the car decreases. It has potential for causing harm, but no corresponding potential for good. Hence the perfect handle for the way I feel when I’m in a depressed state.

I was like that at first, for about a week. Then as I got used to it, I really started to feel good. I still have wild crazy dreams, and I wake up feeling like I didn’t sleep much, but I don’t feel tired during the day. I feel more rested now that before I started taking it, even on 6 or 7 hours of sleep. Don’t drink coffee ! If you’re just taking one pill now, take it in the morning. When you move up to twice a day, take the first pill when you wake up, and the second pill eight hours later. If you take it near bedtime, it’s harder to fall asleep, but you need at least eight hourse between doses. Hang it there for a week or two and give it a chance. Walter

I couldn’t see that it did anything while I was on it. So I switched to Effexor, which was bad, and now Zoloft, which kills the pain. Charles

Not trying to be picky here, but could whoever is doing the crossposting please stop? Things get confusing otherwise. Thanks. :) — Kathleen D (alt.support.anxiety-panic) "Hope is the thing with feathers" — Emily Dickinson

Just so you know that not everyone has a bad experience on Wellbutrin . . . I took it for a year. Did great things for me. Had a bit of insomnia at the beginning for a week or so–that was the only side-effect. When I stopped it, I had no withdrawal problems at all. L.

Kathleen: Sorry if it is confusing, but this post, andand I thought medication, pertain to all of the above newsgrups. Thats why I cross-posted…the more that get to respond and educated by each others knowledge, is IMHO, important. Again, I apologize, but if there IS something about this post that is REALLY bothering you..I will stop. Thanks for listening. Seth

It’s not that it’s bothering me, Seth, but that it’s generally considered against netiquette, and here’s why. Even though it’s not confusing now, threads tend to develop in different ways on different newsgroups. Though crossposted messages don’t start out as confusing, they invariably become so, as the posters on various groups send messages which hit on slightly different aspects of the same subject, and diverge farther and farther afield. Threads split and multiply even within a single newsgroup, and that can be confusing enough, but when you multiply it by four, you’ve got the potential for real chaos on your hands. :) You’re quite right that this subject is on topic on all the newsgroups you posted to, and I understand that you want to get everyone’s input. Here’s a possible way around the dilemma: make the same post to every newsgroup, but *separately*. In other words, you can post the same message to a number of newsgroups, but individually. Don’t put all the groups on a single header. I know that this entails a little more work on your part — posting several copies and checking each newsgroup for replies — but it’s really not THAT much trouble (I’ve done it), and it seems to work out a lot better in the long run. :) I’ve removed all the groups but ASAP from the header this time, but I’ve both posted and emailed it so I’ll be sure that you see it. :) Thanks! When i first started Wellbutrin, it made me shaky, weak, and diarrhea.. for about a week.. After about 2/3 weeks, it evened out, and now does great for me..I take the 150SR tab once a day.. Been bouncing back and forth between 1 & 2 x a day, but too many side effects, including sleeplessness, at 2 tabs..
