Zyban Users….

Question:

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I wouldn’t sweat it too much.  I have been in the same boat – talking about psychological stuff without giving a host of disclaimers, and I even got dinged… but in all honestly, I think that "Caveat Emptor" is just plain common sense for any advice you receive, whether from a newsgroup, an individual, a webpage, or even a doctor, and it shouldn’t be mandatory to include a list of disclaimers every time you make a suggestion.  It just makes people afraid to post anything but the most innocuous advice.  It’s always a good idea to talk to a doctor before changing the dosage of a prescription med, but that’s just common sense – you shouldn’t need to explain it.   If people are naive enough to take every suggestion that they are given on usenet without applying a common sense test to it, then they shouldn’t be here – they’re going to get hurt.  There, now they can slam me for defending you.  I’m depressed anyway, and way too busy to post. Diane M.

Thanks Diane. May your depression be as a shower of rain in the desert – Short lived and easily forgotten.

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I’m merely passing on my experience here. So don’t barrack me if it doesn’t work. You’d better duck down before they start throwing things at you…you forgot to mention that you’re not a doctor nor are you qualified to offer medical advice, blah, blah, blah, blah!! Yes, I’m beginning to see that. However, my disclaimer would about passing on my experience would to most people suggest they get advice before they try it. It was *my* experience.
