Good point!  I know that’s possible with Respironics blowers, I’m not sure about other brands, but it sure beats lugging the machine back and forth for adjustment. In the beginning, my doctor would call my new prescription to my dealer, who would then mail or deliver the ’smart card’ coded with my new prescription……  I would give them the card I had in my machine, which they would keep on my file to use with the next pressure change….. I’m not sure if this would work, but perhaps if you called your doctor’s office, explain the problem you’re having and see if your doc will make the appropriate request.  It shouldn’t cost you anything to do that. If that doesn’t work, let us know — Beth in Australia =================== FAQ for alt.support.sleep-disorder can be found here http://www.anchorweb.com.au/sleepdisorders this site is a work in progress – feel free to submit info/articles

I had the same problem, I could not take 17 cms in the beginning, so the dealer called my Doctor on the phone immediately and got the OK to start at 10 and slowly move up every few days.  It took me a total of 10 days to get to 17 cms and now I am extremely comfortable with 17. In addition to all the good ideas, whatever you do don’t give up on CPAP. If you absolutely can’t handle the pressure on exhale and even lowering your pressure some doesn’t help, tell the doc you need/want a BiPAP. Mike

You don’t have to ‘go back’ to the doctor.  A phone call/fax to the doctor and they will authorize your provider to change the pressure.
