Nasal Aire ROCKS!!!

Question:

More feedback since I started this threat:  My DME has been VERY helpful with letting me try a demo of different sizes of the Nasal Aire mask.  I tried the medium, and found that it leaked unless you positioned it just right.  I have a large that I am trying, and NO LEAKS!!  For Kit: to keep it in place better, you need to make sure you have BOTH of the velcro straps in place. The larger one goes across the neck at the base of the skull, and the smaller one goes in front like a bolo.    I have also found that the larger size also stays in the nares on its own much better.  The noise has not been much of a bother to me as I have slept with earplugs for years, due to a permanent midnight shift and my own (*&^ snoring!!  <lol>  I will be getting my own large Nasal Aire next week some time, and if the new model is even better, I’ll get one of those too!  It’s also a bonus that the Nasal Aire will not disintegrate when you roll over on it!!  ;-Deano

Response:

I’ve been using a demo of a Nasal Aire from my DME for about two weeks, and I am ecstatic about the results.  This is, by far the BEST solution for me.  I WAS using a Breeze, but even with the dubious "improvements" that were made to it, it only lasted 5 months.  And I am NOT going to replace something so poorly designed every six months due to breakage.  On the other hand, the Nasal Aire seems to be the epitome of the KISS principle – no heavy headgear, only a few straps, and it STAYS in place!!  I have found that I am even getting better infusion of the moisture from my heated humidifier than before with NO RAINOUTS!!  I told my DME that I am going to buy an extra one of these as a spare!    If anybody needs spare parts for a Breeze, let me know.  Anybody having one KNOWS where mine is broken.  I apologize to anyone who thinks this is a rant.  Just MHO.  ;-Deano

I appreciate your comments. I’ve broken my Breeze 2x. It’s about 16 months old. I’m going to look for a replacement. Find myself checking for leakage all night long.  Every night. Hard to get a good night’s sleep. Thought of getting larger nose buds. Mine are the "mint green" (colour <g>, not smell) variety. Dave Mississauga "Dean Dancey" <d…@sympatico.ca> wrote in message

i spoke with someone in InnoMed (the people who make the nasal aire) last week http://www.innomedinc.com/ and specifically asked about the "new design". they said it would be announced/available at the end of march. i am not gonna hold my breath (no pun intended). And their web site would be updated with the new info at that time as well. as i recall, they said the ‘new design’ was really with regards to the nasal interface, tho they didn’t provide any specifics except that it was supposed to be more ‘quiet’. they also mentioned that it would be easier to order specific parts (as in you would be able to replace the nasal piece without having to order a different ‘kit’, hoses would be the same). i asked about prices, but they said they didn’t know about that, would have to ask a supplier. anyways, that’s all i have heard about that.

How do you manage to keep yours in place? Mine is driving me nuts – every time I turn over the tube seems to pop out from behind my ear and then it falls out my nose. The other problem I have is with the hose. When using a mask I have managed to suspend the hose which is less annoying, but this does not seem to work with the NasalAire… Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted!
