Sore on forehead from cpap mask?
Question:
I have a Resironics Classic cpap mask and after wearing it for a couple of nights I have developed a bad sore where the gel pad touches my forehead. Has anyone else experienced this? The pad doesn’t seem to be pressed against my forehead very hard. It isn’t pressed flat. It doesn’t seem to be too tight.

I had the same problem with a different mask, my solution was to make a small fabric pad to place between the forhead rest and my head — Beth in Australia (I am not a medical professional and anything stated in my posts is my opinion only unless specified otherwise) =================== FAQ for alt.support.sleep-disorder can be found here http://talhost.net/sleep Newsgroup Archives http://talhost.net/sleep/archives.htm this site is a work in progress – feel free to submit info/articles Remove my name to reply

There are masks that don’t rest on the bridge of your nose like that. I would talk to your doctor <or if you are lucky to work with a health care supplies company that has a specialist come in talk to them> There is one that the only contact is little pillow like things that go into your nose. Takes some getting used to but works great.

mine wasnt so much an open sore or something like that (bedsores?). my problem was severe bruising. I bruise easily, and no matter how loose I made the mask, I ended up with a purple spot between my eyes. Wendy —
