Waking up tired
Question:
All my life I have waken up in the morning more tired than when I went to bed. I get plenty of sleep, I have tried over the years to add sleep, to have less sleep but still it is extremely difficult to get out of bed in the morning. Does anyone have any insight into this and is there anything that I can take the night before that will kick in around wake up time to give me more energy. I would love to be one of those persons who wakes up full of energy and feels refreshed. Do you think it is possible to be able to change this?

i’ve got the same problem — doesn’t matter what time i go to bed, i have to drag myself up in time to make it to work. And I don’t think i have a sleeping problem – i sleep like a log. not even moving around. i second your request for help in this matter
I had this problem… my boyfriend is in medical school and pointed out studies he was reading on sleap apnia (spell) he said when he comes in at night It is ral easy to wake me up.. it tkes almost nothing… apnea is when you stop breathing constantly in little bursts during the night.. it prevents you from having a deep sleep and thats what causes this… you might want to ask your doc about checking for this…. ~Cat

Ginseng has been my savior! It may sound crazy, but I tried "everything" for my PMS and being just downright tired and depressed all the time. I even went to a shrink!! without them again!!! "Brenda"

NO PROMISES — and no supporting medical information — but I found that ginseng helped give me energy in an indirect way. Interestingly enough, it seemed to help me get a better night’s sleep. However, I have a couple of friends who swear by ginseng for feeling less tired and more energetic. Has anyone else found help in ginseng? — m3 Mary Margaret McCormick M-Cubed Consulting

Jessica: I too "thought" I slept like a log for years. And I was always waking up tired. Couldn’t concentrate etc…. until I got married and my husband informed me of how much I snored and that I stopped breathing throughout the nite. After a year of his urgings I got checked out by a sleep lab and Check out "alt.support.sleep-disorders" newsgroup. Brenda "Brenda"

Have you ever had a sleep evaluation done? Many people suffer from sleep apnea, to a greater or lesser extent. It doesn’t have to involve the loud snoring and "jerking" awake to still be bad enough to interfere with your rest. It’s possible to be completely unaware of it, yet have it destroy a good night’s rest. Jo Ann
