Head Banging In Sleep
Question:
A friend of a friend, neither of which have internet access, has a sleep disorder and seeks solutions. Said friend of friend does not have health insurance, and can’t afford to go to a sleep disorder clinic. This man bangs his head on his pillow in his sleep and it wakes him up all night. He’s allways exhausted from lack of sleep. I don’t know how long it’s been going on, but I could get more details if necessary. My friend knows little of sleep disorders, but suggested melatonin, which I’m not up on the latest news on. Her monther, also knowing little of sleep disorders or melatonin said she had read something recently in the news about it that was really bad, but couldn’t remember what it was. I suggested trying Benadryl first because more is known about it’s safety, dosages etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please post or reply to christina.burn…@fmr.com or this address.

Unfortunately, there is no solution that you will get here on the internet. Your friend needs to be seen by a sleep specialist to determine what is the source of this problem, as it could be many things. Not a great answer for you, but an honest one.
